I am extremely passionate about becoming a teacher and have been preparing myself since high school. I love children and think it’s amazing to watch them grow and be part of their development. Since my junior year in high school I have been volunteering in public schools to become more familiar with my role as a teacher. Since that time I have volunteered in four different public school settings for extended periods of time. All my experiences were extremely different, ranging from working with high income students in Seattle to working with low income students in Salem, Oregon, Seattle, Washington and Belize City, Belize. I am now pursing my Master's in Teaching with a special ed. endorsement at Seattle University and I am extremely excited to be one step closer to my life long dream.

I hope to instill a love of reading and a desire to learn in students. I would like to participate in a classroom where I can develop a variety of techniques that keeps education interesting and fun and cultivates a love of learning in the students. I would also like to develop skills that will create active involvement for all learning styles.

I believe that every child has the ability to become a great person and student if we nurture and teach them to be. Teaching in different urban school settings has fueled my desire to become a teacher. I want to help each student I encounter, no matter where they come from, to believe that they are capable of anything. I hope to provide them with the necessary tools to accomplish their goals and help them grow physically, emotionally, and mentally.

I am a native Oregonian and enjoy camping, hiking, and everything outdoors. I love soccer, running and participating in most sports.
